My players call it "Jota-Ball"

Control the ball, control the game

The ball dictates everything. I help players develop the understanding of when, where, and how to control possession.

High xG chances

Statistics are an important piece of the modern game. I develop players that use it to inform their decision making and come up with creative ways of creating chances.

Inspired by the best

My philosophy is heavily inspired by Pep’s 2010 Barcelona and more recently, Robert de Zerbi and Mikel Arteta. Their ideas of “breaking the press” or “overloading the midfield” can be seen my team’s play.

"Ultimately, Jota ball was positional play taken from the play books of a de Zerbi type coach. Possession heavy style with a press that was direct but not gegen pressing"

"[Jota's] coaching style has been one of the most informative that I have had to date. You set up clear ideas and allow the players to enact those ideas when we see fit whilst simultaneously setting clear expectations in different phases of play."
